Tough love from my editor, and I'm gratefulNot gonna lie, when my edits came back I was a bit gutted. Two whole chapters flagged as dragging. I sulked for a day, then reread them and... yeah, she was right. The book is so much tighter now. My beta readers went from "it's good" to "I stayed up till 2am finishing it". That's the difference a proper editor makes.
